The Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max is the most advanced and powerful iPhone in the iPhone 17 lineup, featuring an aluminum unibody, vapor cooling technology, and improved camera system. It was launched in September 2025.

Dimensions and weight: As per Apple’s technical specifications, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is 163.4 x 78.0 x 8.75 mm in dimensions and weighs 233 grams.
Body:
The iPhone 17 Pro Max has a heat-forged aluminum unibody frame, a new design option for Pro phones designed to deliver maximum battery life, strength, and performance.
Durability:
Both the rear and front of the phone are safeguarded by Ceramic Shield 2, the back offering 4 times greater crack resistance and the front providing 3 times greater scratch resistance compared to the previous model.
Display:
The 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR OLED screen provides a 2868 x 1320 pixel (460 ppi) resolution. It has a ProMotion adaptive refresh rate of 1–120Hz and outdoor peak brightness of 3000 nits, as well as an anti-reflective coating.
Colors:
It comes in Cosmic Orange, Deep Blue, and Silver.
Performance and battery
Processor: It is driven by the A19 Pro chip, a 3nm hexa-core chip with Neural Accelerators built into each GPU core for improved AI processing.
Cooling: The performance of the A19 Pro chip is further boosted by a new vapor chamber cooling system, designed to effectively channel heat away from the chip.
RAM and Storage: The iPhone 17 Pro Max has 12GB of RAM. Storage options are 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and a new option of 2TB.
Battery: The battery life is greatly enhanced, with the eSIM version having a bigger 5,088mAh battery. Capable of fast charging, it charges to 50% in 20 minutes with a 40W or higher adapter, or in 30 minutes with a 30W or higher MagSafe Charger.
Camera and video
Rear camera system: The Pro Fusion camera system includes three 48MP lenses: a Main, an Ultra Wide, and a Telephoto.
Telephoto zoom: Telephoto lens comes with an 8x optical-quality zoom, longest ever on an iPhone, with a combined total of 16x optical zoom range.
Front camera: The new 18MP Center Stage front camera employs a square sensor, enabling users to zoom and turn for even more convenient framing of selfies and videos. It also widens automatically for group photos.
Supports 4K 120 fps video recording in Dolby Vision.
Support for ProRes RAW and Apple Log 2 is provided for sophisticated video editing capabilities.
Dual Capture allows for simultaneous recording from the front and rear cameras.
Video synchronization: Support for Genlock and timecode enables accurate video synchronization for content creators and filmmaking.

Cellular: The phone has advanced eSIM technology and is incompatible with physical SIM cards.
